"September 11th Lament" - Project 12:01

(instrumental)

"After the Fall (New York Mix)" - Ganymede

"As we watched the horrific events of September 11th unfold, the first thought that crossed our minds was how eerily relevant our song 'After the Fall' seemed to the situation at hand. Especially since the song was inspired by the post-apocalyptic film 'After the Fall of New York', we wondered if what we were seeing couldn't be considered the real fall of New York. This is a brand-new version of the track produced exclusively for this tribute to the tragedy."

After the fall, that's what started it all.
Now the world is in flames, and nothing has changed.
I wait for the light, and nothing seems right.
After the fall.

I pledge allegiance to the flag as I look up towards the skies.
I know we all suspected; was anyone surprised?
Outside, the sirens wail and the people begin to pray
to atone for the sins of mankind, to atone on Judgment Day.

We only did this to ourselves and there's no one else to blame.
Nations fighting nations, but underneath we're all the same.
Is all this for a reason?
Is all this just a lie?
Is all this so important that all of us must die?

Time and time I told you that everything would be ok.
But now the end is close at hand, and there's nothing left to say.
I wonder if it all was worth it, if everything we did was wrong.
But it's too late. We made the choice, so go ahead and drop the bomb...

"Goodbye (For Now)" - Monolithic

"September 11th marked a day of tragedy for Americans. Yet it also marked a day of unity, love and compassion. Suddenly like a wind changes direction people began to pray, give support to those in need, remember their patriotism and the God that brought fourth our fathers from bondage to this nation. In addition to these feelings also came fear, hatred, sorrow, and soul searching. The song "Goodbye (For Now)" is offered to those in need of comfort. Especially for those who lost loved ones in the blink of an eye. They are still with us, with you. Not just the memories, but the spirit lives on."

I don't want to say goodbye
But it's time to spread these wings and fly.

I know it's hard to understand
when the hourglass runs out of sand.

Into the sky above,
I drift through the darkness and sense what is love passing...
Into the light ahead,
my spirit's alive though you see what is dead.

Lift your head and don't you cry,
'Cause we all have to someday die.
Just remember that I'll always care.
Call my name and I'll be there.

Holding you in the night,
I know you can't see me but feel this my light, softly...
brushing the dark away,
listen and you'll hear the words that I say.

Chorus:
Where my soul flies, I'll be here tonight
Where my soul flies, I pray you'll be alright...
you'll be alright

sleep tight, you'll be alright.

When you're tired and growing old
and your life on Earth begins to fold,
You'll find that it will all begin.
I will see you and hold you again.

(Bridge)
(Chorus)

"Infidel" - NukleoN

"On 9-11-2001, the world watched in horror as the World Trade Center and the Pentagon were attacked with commercial airliners serving as guided missiles ... guided by the hateful hands of fanatics seeking to foist their will upon the world with yet another terrorist act. The United States were formed on the basis of personal liberty, including freedom of and freedom from religion. There are some groups, even in America, who would have us submit to their own oppressive ideology. However, it is our very diversity and tolerance of opposing ideas which sets America apart as a nation of nations and land of the truly free. "

You've done your deed for the last time
Keep what's yours, don't take what's mine
seething anger under our blast sheilds
You can hide-but u cannot run from us-

The rest of your life

Chorus:

Take position on the other side
Hearts bleed but our tears have dried
*Damnation of your futile cause
we'll hunt you down, till you die
*Inquisition is your final cause
we'll hunt you down until you die

Spare us all your fanatic lies
criminal verse you proselytize
We don't need your false regime
Don't call us Infidels, we're free

Refrain:

We'll hunt them down
for the way they oppress them
we'll hunt them down oh
you can't trust them
Oh It's got to be better
Got to be better
Oh mother so many lives lost..

so many lives
so many lives

"These Strange Times" - Madmen in Vienna

It's about that time you see the sign
I can see it in your eyes, but I can't believe you're mine
Can you hear the music playing in the air
As you dance around like you just don't care?

Some might say we won't work out
But the way it feels, we should never have a doubt
As the night falls down in a sea of gloom
We'll trade our hearts, but we'll always stay true

Hold on in these strange times
Hold on to days just like this
Hold on in these strange times
Hold on to days just like this

"Stare (Skintone Mix)" - Empire State Human

"Days following the 11/9 tragedy, we wanted to be part of some show of solidarity and support, for the victims and their families. The minute we heard about this CD, Empire State Human wanted to be a part of it. Our immediate choice of track was 'Stare', featured here in remix form. This song is about loss, hurt, and anger, the very same moods that all rational and caring human beings felt when, with disbelieving eyes, we witnessed those terrible events unfold. We hope this CD becomes the biggest and most successful compilation of ALL TIME!! We also would like to pay tribute to Bobby Clark, for having uson this CD, and for putting this collection together with such care and consideration."

Don't love with jealousy
It bears the colours of contempt
With certain parody
Don't kick me when I'm on my back
I'm not that type of guy
That I will always come back

I stare at your heart and I see
A thing that I don't like
A love that is eating me
A reason to part makes no difference to me
As the world spins along you stare in front of me
You stare in front of me (yea, yea, yea, yea)

Love is your energy
If you turn it away
It makes no guarantees
Run back and look me in the face
If our love has gone
Then these few words you must trace

I stare at your heart and I see
A thing that I don't like
A love that is eating me
A reason to part makes no difference to me
As the world spins along, I stare ... watch me stare!

Love is your energy
If you turn it away
It makes no guarantees
Run back and look me in the face
If our love has gone
Then these few words you must trace

I stare at your heart and I see
A thing that I don't like
A love that is eating me
A reason to part makes no difference to me
As the world spins along .. hey
I stare at your heart and I see
A thing that I don't like
A love that is eating me
A reason to part makes no difference to me
As the world spins along I stare
World spins along I stare
Staring at you and you're staring at me

Don't love with jealousy
It bears the colours of contempt you see
With that certain parody in your smile
Don't kick me when I'm on my back
Wait a while, wait a while

"Criminal Ballad" - Wave in Head

"Though I know there is a lot of poverty, hunger, and war on this earth, nothing has touched me so directly and shocked me so much, like the tragedy in America and as I have good friends there, I didn't hesitate to participate in this sampler, in the hope that my work helps. The 11th September reminded me of how fragile we are and that we shouldn't waste our short lifetime with hate. It also opened my eyes and I see now, how much help is needed everywhere all over the world and how thankful we should be to live on the "sunny" side of this world."

You feel diseased, your environmentīs got
lots of intrigues, making your life that bad.
Well,

you can be wrong, but you canīt be wrong, if itīs you.

Staying alive, has become so easy.
Except in times, when an anger rules the world.

you can be wrong, but you canīt be wrong, if itīs you.

Something reminds you of suspicious moments,
in any kind, when a shotīs breaking the night.

you can be wrong, but you canīt be wrong, if itīs you.

Youīve got that feeling, that itīs going on.
Youīve got that feeling, there is something wrong.

Night in your mind. Every breath is a fight.
You canīt realize. Are you dreaming? Is it true?

you can be wrong, but you canīt be wrong, if itīs you.

"United for a Day (Eloquent mix)" - Blind Before Dawn

"I remember switching the TV on and thinking I was watching some scene for a new Die Hard movie -- until you saw that the footage was coming live from the World Trade Centre. The impossible had become possible: The USA attacked on it's own turf. Sadness overwhelemed the members of Blind Before Dawn and we felt compelled to write this track as a message to the world: Give peace a chance, but not at the cost of freedom and liberty. We honour the fallen innocents of September 11th and we always will." - Davi Lovatt, Blind Before Dawn

"I'm unaware that the United States did amything to provoke the September 11th attacks, or if it was just pure hatred from these terrorist groups, but the killing of innocent people is an unforgivable act by anyone. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of lost firefighters, police, airline passengers, and employees of the World Trade Centers and the Pentagon. I am so sorry for the tremendously unbearable pain you must be going through. It is for you we dedicate this song. God bless everyone who has been touched by this tragedy and God Bless America. United We Stand." - Steven Cochran, Eloquent

Now we've all come together today
Because we're all so stunned and we're dismayed.
I can't believe the sight before my eyes,
Is the blood of the innocents to blame,
By evil hatred ignorance and shame,
As twin giants fall from the sky I pray.

Your prayers won't go unanswered,
If it's hope for which you pray.
The sleeper has awoken,
United For A Day.
Your prayers won't go unanswered,
If it's hope for which you pray.
The sleeper has awoken,
United For A Day.

For the first time in so many years,
I've seen unity through blood and tears.
We've brought hope from fear and flags fly high.
Beneath the skin we are the same,
We're patriots against acts of hate and shame.
For freedom now and always shall remain.

Your prayers won't go unanswered,
If it's hope for which you pray.
The sleeper has awoken,
United For A Day.
Your prayers won't go unanswered,
If it's hope for which you pray.
The sleeper has awoken,
United For A Day.

Let's continue every day this way,
United now we pray.

"Heavens Cry" - Etherstrings

"We have recorded this song to express the deepest sorrow which seized our hearts when we heard about the tragedy in the USA. The song lyrics do not tell about the tragedy directly. It is rather the melody and the strings theme that mourn. We sing about the pain of losing the beautiful world which everyone creates in his soul when the life is peaceful and the future is promising. But the world is fragile, and you learn it when you hear about catastrophes, wars, and devastation. The worlds that were created before September 11 will never be the same ... We feel the pain of American people who lost their loved ones. Our deepest condolences to everyone affected by the terrorist attacks in New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania."

My heavens cry, cos they keep that fire burning, for awhile
Dying embers of eternal love
I wonder why I can't stop my endless morning in the night
Quit this fightning... Haven't I had enough?

A kind of pain... I donđt see my constellation anymore
Lost forever in the heavens spun...
The nameđs the same... tricks of dull imagination; close the door
Servants come when the wizards are gone

Will you shine just once more
And help me reach the distant shore?
Will you shine
Will you shine
Thatđs what Iđm praying for now

"The Perfect Shape" - Cosmicity

"I didn't write this song as a result of September 11th. It was actually written about 6 months before. In case it's not clear, it is the story of a man who is put on Earth with the answers to everything. You know ... the meaning of life, love, happiness ... everything. His purpose on the planet is to help and guide people. But the tragedy is, he's gradually forgetting it all as a result of endless stupid and meaingless distractons in our modern society. Of course, the man is symbolic of everyone, as we all have these answers in our hearts. They're just easily lost. I wanted this song to be a little reminder. When I heard about this compilation, I thought it tied in very well. September 11th has indeed made us all take a closer look at our lives and values."

He's a witness
to the perfect shape of life
gentle and forgiving
he wants to give you insight
but this balancing act
these delicates and breakables
oh, they distract
he didn't make these rules

and everyday his secret
finds a darker place to hide
your world is slowly blinding him
his eyes stuck open wide

He didn't know.
He didn't know.
He didn't know.
He didn't know.

He's been struggling
to somehow just remember
the truth he always had
he thought he'd know forever
but these trivia attacks
this meaningless consumption
oh, it distracts
he clings to oblivion

and everyday his secret
finds a darker place to hide
your world is slowly blinding him
his eyes stuck open wide

He didn't know.
He didn't know.
He didn't know.
He didn't know.

He knows what makes your life worth living
he can show you all-forgiving
he can explain love in perfect detail
he doesn't want anyone to fail

and everyday his secret
finds a darker place to hide
your world is slowly blinding him
his eyes stuck open wide

He didn't know.
He didn't know.
He didn't know.
He didn't know.

"Far Away" - The Silent Wave

"We believe that it is time for us to be united and fight the evilness, protect our freedom and our way of life. If we ask ourselves everyday when this will end, we will lose. But if we are determined enough, we shall win."

Bread never tastes the same, After you're nourished with heaven
one caress means nothing, After your heart gets taken
That's the price you have to pay, Just to glow for a single day
Before dawning you will see, That's the price of meeting fantasy

If I could only go again and, find the way, find the way
My elysium gone, and it's far away, far away
If I could only go again and dream today, dream today
My elixir gone, it's not here to stay, here to stay

Used to have dreams and hopes, now they're like the weeds in my garden
Troubled heart can't bear so long, each beat becomes a burden
Look above up to the sky, distant sun now tell me why
Rainy clouds now set me free, come and flood and pour on me

If I could only go again and, find the way, find the way
My elysium gone, and it's far away, far away
If I could only go again and dream today, dream today
My elixir gone, it's not here to stay, here to stay

"Anywhere (2001 mix)" - Selected Area

I'm looking around, to see where I am
Don't know this place, want to get out of here
Woke up this morning with a screaming hangover
Don't know with who, don't know who You are
What a girl, so fine, but I had to go
Can't remember what we did last night

I think there is some kind of heavy affection
You & I, we reach out to the sky
I'm feeling the lust goes to my head

I wanna be anywhere
Gonna be fine I swear
As long as You're near me
I keep my feet, right up on the ground
I wanna be anywhere
Gonna be fine I swear
As long as You hear me
I'll keep on crying, crying out Your name

I see in your eyes, that I'm dear to You
I'm the drifting kind, but I'll be there for You

I think there is some kind of heavy affection
You & I, we reach out to the sky
I'm feeling the lust goes to my head

I wanna be anywhere
Gonna be fine I swear
As long as You're near me
I keep my feet, right up on the ground
I wanna be anywhere
Gonna be fine I swear
As long as You hear me
I'll keep on crying, crying out Your name

"Stand Strong (Synomatic mix)" - OCCUPANT

"OCCUPANT is still swimming in the frustration, horror, anger, shame, and futility of the entire event and those following. Stupidity is our foe and we will never defeat it. Try with all that you are to live your life and enjoy, not destroy."

The Brotherhood of Man

More than words of wisdom. More than what they mean.
When we stand together, we're more than what we seem.
Turn to face the music and weather the attack.
Anything they take away we can take it back.

Chorus:
Stand Strong And we'll be the best around
Stand Strong We just can't be beat.
Stand Strong And no one will knock us down.
Stand Strong There'll be no defeat.

We find our limitations by pushing past the ends.
We find out who are enemies and who we call our friends.
The Difficult we do right now. Impossible takes time.
There's nothing we can't overcome with all our wills combined.

Chorus:

Suffering is part of life this we won't deny.
We know that we get stronger the harder that we try.
We know it won't be easy that it's an up hill climb
With all our motion forward no one's left behind

Chorus:

With Liberty and Justice and the freedom that we share
We are all united with our ability to care
The melting pot is stirred up and its about to boil
Cause the common dirt below us is now American Soil.

Chorus:

We're Brothers and Sisters
The Brotherhood of Man

We may have our differences and we will make mistakes
But we fight for freedom no matter what it takes
Cause we all united and we all feel the same
Even though we're many, America's our name.
Nothing will take back all of the tragedies we've seen
And in our sorrow we have felt our true humanity
But if you think we're beaten look around and see you're wrong
Cause everyone's a hero and we're all standing strong.

Chorus:

"America at War" - Tony Reed

"Are we right to go to war? Can we trust our government? Should we believe the media? Did the US really get a dose of our own medicine? Am I wrong to speak out against my country's foreign policies? I would have answered no to these questions before September 11, 2001. Now the answers aren't as clear to me. 'America at War' is about these questions posed by a frustrated individual who vaules his morality, yet knows where his obligations are."

Maybe I should just shut my mouth,
try to clear my head and close my eyes.
And when I sleep at last,
a silent sonic blast
will move my heart.
Remove my heart.
No real story on the evening news.
No more darker deeds on display.
And when I search myself I come up confused.
Is it a question of where I let loyalties lie.

Who am I to go against the grain
while all my enemies prepare to die?
While gleaming epitaphs
and censored photographs
desensitize. Desensitize.
So little patience in the name of peace.
So little thinking at all.
And those who focus their anger with ease
are perfectly willing to purchase conviction with lies.

And are we blessed with this silent night?
But, my thoughts are a thousand miles away.
Sunlight halting the bombing
and the city still breathes in the ruin of the day.
I'm not really sure if it's wrong or right.
If a victory's all that's in mind
there are no winnings today,
only a scar on the face of all of mankind.

Even I can see the change of views
as they write about the plans that change.
And when I speak my mind
can I expect to find
an open mind
or a violent sign?
Where is the litmus for the patriot
here in the land of the free?
And when everything is said and done
will you be wondering why we sent our children to die?

"Hope will Survive" - Gary Flanagan

"This tragedy has had an amazingly huge impact on the collective psyche of the world. Like our forefathers who were also confronted with troubled times such as world wars and the depression, we too will struggle through this desperate hour. 'Hope Will Survive' was probably one of the fastest songs I ever wrote and recorded. It seemingly poured from somewhere deep within me. We Canadians love our American neighbours, and you can rest assured that you have our deepest sympathies and support. Light will always follow darkness."

Stricken down but we will rise
Wiping the tears away from our eyes
Just like the phoenix from the ash of yesterday
Hope will be born from the darkest dismay

Out from the ruins this catastrophic din
We brush off the dust and we get up again
Just like our forefathers taming this land
We will rise to the challenge at hand

Hope will survive
After all the lights go out
Hope will survive
Underneath these clouds of doubt
Hope will survive
And rise from the dark debris
Hope will survive
And give birth to unity

We the people we hear the trumpets call
Our strength will rise after the architecture falls
Our humanity is built on brotherhood
Hand in hand we face the onrushing flood

"Proclamation (Funk-it-up Bush Mix)" - Piper

(instrumental)

"Wishing (live)" - Loveless

Wishing you were here
Standing by my side
Chasing away all my fears
A few hidden tears
Running down my face
As I'm thinking about you
And I see you
Walking
Here in the rain

An hour passes by
Still I'm standing
Outside in the rain
Just wishing
I'd get a glimpse
Of you
Again
And I see you
Walking
Here in the rain
I just want to be near you
Once again
